Hey Guys!
We have a really cool hunt on the schedule, and need more kids to apply for it – thought I would reach out to you and see if you can drum up some interest at your schools.
This is a waterfowl hunt, on the weekend of Oct. 31. It’s on a private property in Navarro County near the town of Kerens. The application deadline was Oct 2, and as of today we have only had 5 kids apply for the 8 spots. The hunt number is 16-095 on our schedule (see www.tyhp.org/youth-hunters/youth-hunt-schedule/). The Huntmaster is Mark Freis; his email is in the cc: line if you wish to contact him directly with any questions.
This should be a great hunt – Mark has a couple of local retriever clubs come out with their dogs, and they serve as guides for the kids. They will also do demos of dog handling, etc. during the off-hours. (Mark please correct me if any of this is wrong J). Mark has been doing this hunt in this area for several years, and from what he has described of past hunts it will be an awesome experience.
Anyway, just wanted to make y’all aware of a great opportunity, and I would appreciate it if you can mention it to your students. Holler if you have any questions!
Regards,
Bob Barnette
